The Lodge at Dunbrody

In addition to our hotel accommodation Dunbrody now offers another wonderful option for those looking for the ultimate getaway – the lodge at Dunbrody.  Formerly the Steward’s House to the original estate, the lodge now offers luxury accommodation but with your own independence too.    Only steps from the main hotel and set within its own courtyard the lodge is a dream hideaway offering seclusion, comfort and a wonderful ambience that will definitely get you switched off and at total ease.

The lodge is 2000 square feet and comprises a very grand formal sitting room with original features such as the 14 foot ceilings, marble fireplace, oak floors and Georgian windows coupled with a cosy library-come-den and beautiful spacious kitchen again featuring original Rayburn stove, hand-painted wall tiles and a sunny terrace on which you can enjoy your breakfast.  Three cosy bedrooms complete the accommodations and are ideal for families or small groups, especially those combining cookery courses.

The lodge is available to book for one night at a nightly rate of €450, three nights at nightly rate of €400 per night or by the week for €2500 per week (rates valid until 31 October 2009).

A full concierge service is also available with the lodge and features all of the following services:

Restaurant & Dining:

Breakfast til Noon in the Harvest Room, a lazy summer lunch on the terrace of Dundons’ Champagne Seafood Bar, Afternoon Tea in front of a blazing fire during the winter or dinner in the Harvest Room from the Seasonal Menu or Gourmet Tasting Menu. 

Private Dining Arrangements:

Private Dining can also be arranged for you in the lodge.  We are pleased to offer a couple of choices regarding private dining – firstly we can supply you with a picnic, full lunch or dinner with desserts that will be ready for you to re-heat at a time of your choosing.  We can also supply you with your own chef and wait staff if you would like to host a private dinner or lunch.  A full wine cellar can also be provided in advance of your arrival. 

The evening terrace can also be set up for your own BBQ and a full menu is available to choose from.

Grocery Shopping:

Similarly we can pre-arrange any grocery shopping you would like to have stocked in advance of your arrival. A list can be provided in advance of your arrival and you can pre-order.  We would be delighted to fill your kitchen with all the Dunbrody goodies such as our freshly baked breads and scones, home-made preserves, soups, casseroles, cold cuts, cheeses, home-smoked salmon and a selection of fruits and vegetables harvested daily from the Dunbrody gardens.  We will also stock your kitchen with a wide choice of cereals, juices, teas, coffee etc.

Spa Reservations: 

To make a booking please contact our Spa Manager Laura and she will be happy to be of assistance in making all your arrangements.  In-lodge treatments can also be requested. 

Cookery School Bookings:

The full schedule is reqularly updated and we would be delighted to make any bookings for you.  Our cookery school chef Edward Hayden would be delighted to go through any of your questions regarding the courses and content.

Childcare & Baby-sitting:

If you would like us to book any baby-sitting please let us know and we can arrange this for you.   Also available are various items such as high-chair, cot, bottle steamer, pushchair.
